My name is Heather Dexheimer and I am the owner and creative balloon artist behind Amazing Balloon Creations & Decor! (ABC & D)
Tho I’m relatively new to the world of balloons, I have been a diy-er, craft-a-holic and mompreneur for pretty much my whole life. I’ve been with my wonderfully amazing and supportive hubby since January 2002 and became a mom to my oldest daughter in November 2002. We expanded my family 2 more times in 2004 and 2009 adding 2 more daughters to the Dexheimer clan. I’ve had many business and hobby adventures along the way. I graduated massage school in December 2001 from CCMT and continued my practice for many years and still get called upon by family and friends etc when needed. I have done sewing, making everything from baby bedroom attire, to dresses, to dance costumes and t-shirt quilts. My love of chocolate brought about a gourmet chocolate covered pretty much everything and cupcake biz several years back. My lifetime love of wanting to get into woodworking was sparked again when we temporarily lived in North Carolina for 2 years and I have continued to grow my wood shop over the past few years. Ultimately turning our new house’s 3 car garage into my very one wood shop (cars do get parked inside for the snow storms tho lol) ...... and then comes the balloons....
So......Why balloons you ask?..... Why Not!!!
I have been throwing/hosting parties and many, many surprise parties for the past 25 years. I planned and threw my very first surprise party when I was just 14 years old for my parents 15th wedding anniversary. I spent weeks saving up my paper route money, went thru my parents phone book and called all their friends and relatives and invited them over for the party. It was a big success and I was hooked! Since then my party planning and hosting has only gotten bigger and more over the top over the years. For their 25th anniversary I even rented a hall, hired a DJ and personally made a 7 tier wedding cake complete with 2 stair cases and plastic bridal party climbing the stairs. ( all while being several months pregnant for our 2nd daughter and raising a toddler to boot! I’ve thrown a bunch of haunted house parties too... I Love Halloween..it’s totally my Christmas lol.
So crazy party after crazy party eventually lead to my crazy balloon addiction. ( I tend to not do anything small heheh) For Christmas this past year (2017) I found a groupon for diy murder mystery parties, so I bought it... knowing at some point that’s gonna be a totally “killer” party to throw. Then in Mid January, I got to thinking..... my sister in law would be turning 40 in April and that would be the perfect chance for me to use the groupon and throw that “killer” surprise party, sure to be a huge success. The theme I chose was an 80’s prom murder mystery....... so,,,,,Bring on the Balloons... ummm because,,, what’s a prom without balloons, and double that what’s a party without balloons?!?!
So...... join a Facebook group...ask tons of questions..... watch nearly every diy balloon decor video I can get my hands on, on YouTube...... buy some balloons and have at it!! I designed the entire layout including my original design for the Photobooth and wanky dance floor.... ummm go big or go home right. Fast forward.... the party ultimately was a huge success... the balloons were totally rad and everyone got dressed up in their characters and the murder mystery part took on a life of its own.
Fast forward to the wonderful guests at the party who then began ordering balloons for their own events and bam!

Need someone to help host your party, help with planning it, or want to throw your own murder mystery party, but don’t want to go it alone... just ask!!! ( trust you, me... there’s a ton of work in those murder mystery parties, but they are sooo much fun and totally worth it!!!)
So even tho ABC & D is new to the ballooning world, I bring over 3 decades of crafting and over 2 decades of business background, owner ship, leadership and management experience along with a lifetime of crafting brains to the table!!
